• Day 5 – 08/31/2010 Tuesday

Its 6:45am – woohoo mommy got to sleep in! He was quiet as soon as he heard me walk up to the bed room door, I think he is learning that is how he gets out. After or morning potty break it was play time while we waited for the guys to come fix the windshield in the truck. They were all done by 10:30am and that means we could drive it after 11:30am. Bryan gets to take me to my nail appointment then at 12:15. Yes I get my nails done – get over it. So at 11:45am it was kennel time, we did not hear a peep out of him till we were getting into the truck. At least this is getting easier. I got my nails done then we had to go to walmart to get Bryan some new pants. He has been without jeans for a while. It was about 2:30pm when we got home and little Dozer was barking after we pulled up, but it was a happy bark. Again he was quiet by the time I got to him, man he learns so fast. After a potty break it was play time. I told him to get his bear out of his bed (the open crate that we have in the living room) and he did it! He had to pick the bear out from 3 different toys; a ball, a rope toy and the blue bear. We have been feeding him in this crate to keep the other dogs away from his food and to keep him focused on his food.
At 7pm on Tuesdays Wipeout comes on and our neighbor John comes over to watch it with us. I took Dozer for a walk to the mailbox before the show started so he would sleep through it. He sat through most of it, but with 15 minutes left in the show he was done with being out in dad’s shop. So we came inside and he played with Portia for about 20 minutes. Even Gizmo got in on the fun but it didn’t last long, he is still kind of grumpy. At 9pm they were all passed out on the couch while mom watched TV. Not much house work done today but we still have two more days till out trip. Because he has only had one shot he cannot go to the dunes with us yet. He will be going to Hollywood’s for the weekend and the other two will be going to my parents. They love going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. I can’t even say the words without them jumping up and down. Dozer doesn’t know what that means yet, but he will. My parents have taken on the care of my Great Grandmother so 5 dogs for the weekend will be enough for them. So that is why Dozer will be going to Hollywood’s for the weekend, he also gets to play with his Brother Tyson. This might be the last chance he gets to spend that much time with his brother, he will be going to live with his own family one day. Carebear was the other surviving pup from this litter, he was taken at 7 weeks old by his family to Phoenix so we have not seen him since then.
There were 10 pups to start with and mama dog Sadie did the best she could but 7 pups didn’t make it. We had picked out a little girl and named her Laila Ali (after the female boxer) but she did not make it. My heart was then stolen by the biggest out of the litter. Dozer was his name from just a few days old cause he was the biggest out of the litter and he would bulldoze over the other pups. In a way I guess he pick us out. He would always come right over to us, even before his eyes were open. 10 pm is almost here and it will be bed time soon. It breaks my heart to have him in the kennel but kennel training is a must for his safety and the safety of the house/carpet. Maybe in a few days to a week we will start letting him sleep in our room, we shall see. 9:45pm he is in bed with just a little bit of crying, but at 10:01pm he must have woke up enough to realize that he was not by me anymore. He was asleep when I carried him to his kennel. Well good night to Dozer, sleep well my little man.
