| Dozer hanging out with mom at the track |
Dozer is our new puppy - his DOB is 6-28-2010. After we got the little guy home I decided to write a diary about his antics. I then thought - I wonder if this would make a cool Blog, and here we are. Enjoy reading all about Dozer, Porta, Gizmo Bryan and I as we all grow together as a family. I do have a habit of referring to Bryan and Myself as Mom and Dad in my writings, our pets are our children. If you would like to Contact me - please Email me at: DozerDays@hotmail.com

• Day 57 – 10-26-2010 Tuesday
I am getting a cold and I am not feeling any better. Looks like we might not be spending the night out at the track on Friday night, someone messed up the schedule and put that the gates open at 8am on Saturday. Well it looks like the gate are going to be open at 2pm on Saturday, so we will hang out Friday for the test and tune, then just come back on Saturday. We are still going to bring the toy hauler, that way Dozer and I have a place to hang out. I am bringing soup to work today, I can’t taste very much and it is easy to eat. My throat hurts so much! When my dad dropped me off today he wanted to come in and see what we did to our bed room, remember we rearranged it a little bit ago. He has not seen it since we did that, he said it looked cool. I had a care package for my mom of healthy snacks and a sample of my first attempt at making salmon at home, it turned out awesome by the way! So when I let Dozer out to go potty and walk him to the mailbox I was surprised when Dad wanted to walk with us. Dozer loves his Grandpa, just like the two other ones do. Dozer did very well on his walk, sowed off for Grandpa. Tonight for dinner it is turkey meat balls, and leak and potato soup. The soup came out really good, except I left the pieces of leak too big before I ran the blender in it, so it is a little stringy. But it still tastes good, the turkey meat balls I didn’t even get any cause Bryan ate them all, he said they were the best! So now I know I can get them again. After cleaning up after dinner it was time for bed. We were all in bed before 9:30. I woke up at 11:30pm to realize I missed the news.

• Day 56 – 10-25-2010 Monday – 17 weeks old
I feel like I am starting to get a cold. I was supposed to get my flu shot today, guess that will have to wait till I see my Dr in November. I hate being sick, I still have to function. I can’t just stay home and the house and bills will take care of themselves. My throat is so sore, and my sinuses are stuffed up. But off to work I go, hopefully I will start to feel better. And I did – for a while. Till about lunch time, then my stomach started to hurt really bad and I had heart burn till long after I got home from work. I had planned on making something nice for dinner, but on second thought, I am going to make hotdogs and then go to bed. Dozer and I had to go for our walk in the dark. Bryan took a little longer to leave work. I hate that it is getting darker earlier, but the cool weather is nice. I have been drinking hot tea to try to help my throat but it really has not been working, the weight watchers ice cream helped a little. Oh – I lost a few more pounds, that puts me at 19 down so far. I just keep working towards my goal. Well Bryan came in late – I think I fell asleep somewhere around 9:15pm or so. Now it is time for bed – since it is almost 1am work tomorrow should be fun.

• Day 54 and 55 – 10-23-2010 Saturday and 10-24-2010 Sunday
7am and I am up on a Saturday! Well it is that time again to go get my nails done with my mom. We also do our grocery shopping together every other weekend. It is nice to have that time to spend together. It is usually just her and I – some nice mother daughter time. We didn’t get to do that when I was growing up. I got my nails painted all black with cat eyes on my ring fingers. We got a bunch of stuff at the grocery store – I want to try new recipes out so we are not eating the same thing over and over. Bryan is down to try whatever I can come up with. Tonight I cooked Salmon for the first time – OMG – it was sooooo good! Tomorrow is Swiss cheese stuffed chicken baked. Bryan doesn’t really like oven backed chicken – but I am gonna try it. Our Buddy Colt called us so we are going to go hang out with him tonight. He has his daughter and we have not seen her since her birthday when I gave her two stuffed animals I made. That was back in August, it was a pink and blue bunny and a blue and pink Monkey. We were there till almost 2am, I am so ready for bed. Well 9am on Sunday, so thankful the dogs let me sleep in. I really need to clean out the trailer, we are taking it next weekend to the drag strip. I am going to run a load of laundry, run the dishwasher and work on Xmas presents for now. After I made dinner of my Swiss stuffed chicken I did go get some things out of the trailer to start getting it ready. We ran out of time to watch a movie before Desperate Housewives came on so we will have to watch them at another time. It is 9pm and I am ready for bed – good night
• Day 53 – 10-22-2010 Friday
Woohoo – it’s Friday! Man this has felt like a long week. Dozer is 23lbs, I thought he would have been closer to 25 by now. He seems to be growing just fine so I am not worried. He is still a bit ribby but he only eats what he wants to. It is about 2 cups a day right now. My allergies are getting pretty bad, I hate spring and fall – they seem to be the worst time of year for my allergies. Dozer’s kennel needs to be take apart and cleaned this weekend. Just me pulling the paper out and putting fresh in is not cutting it anymore. After a long day at work we got home and cleaned the house a bit. Dozer was a little bit un happy about or walk, it was cold when we got home and almost dark. Our neighbor John’s Cousin and her hubby and kids stopped by for a little bit so I took Dozer over there. He was a good boy around the kids, jumped on them a little bit, but he is a pup! We are working on the jumping thing. Well since it is cold, I am going to go curl up in bed with my three warm dogs. Night!

• Day 52 – 10-21-2010 Thursday
Well to my surprise I got one the scale to see that I have lost another pound, that puts me at 18 lost so far. I got Dozer on the scale and he is 23lbs, he is growing so fast. I wish he would just stay little. We all think he is gonna be this big boy, I will laugh if he turns out to be a tiny Boxer. I found a free pattern for a pumpkin to carve a boxer face on it – so very cute. If you would like to fine your own go to http://www.bhg.com/holidays/halloween/pumpkin-carving/pumpkin-carving-stencils-of-favorite-dogs/ you have to register to be able to download the patterns but it is free and quick to do. This week has felt like a very long week. I am so ready for it to be the weekend. I am getting my nails donw with my mom on Saturday, then Dozer and I are going to clean out his kennel, well ok – I am going to clean it while he his there and watches. Off to work we go, Dozer breaks my heart every time I put him in the kennel. I hope that he will soon be able to walk in there on his own. I will not be able to pick him up forever. When we got home it was cold, it had rained most of the day and it was only like 63 outside. That’s the best thing about Arizona, we go from 90 degree weather to 60 degree weather in just one day, insta-Autumn. Dozer seems to like out walks more and more, he is getting less and less distracted by other dogs and kids that live near us. After trying to figure out what I can have for dinner it was time to settle down and play with Dozer. Bryan came in early and Dozer still barks at him and will not come up to him. So we did some treat training and that seemed to help. Bryan doesn’t seem to understand that the dogs see me most of the time, he doesn’t spend the time with them like I do. Well ff to bed early tonight, had to put extra blankets on the bed and run the space heater in the licing room for a bit. Oh boy I am gonna freeze this year. I hope my body gets used to it.

• Day 51 – 10-20-2010 Wednesday
Today is supposed to be cold and rainy; so far it has been cool and no rain yet. I wish it would rain – it always feels so much better after a rain. Dozer was very cuddly this morning and it was hard to leave him to go to work. Even Bryan said the same thing. I wish the other two dogs would be better behaved when we take them out so we could all go to the drag strip together, but Dozer seems to be the only one not to freak out around the loud cars. After a long day at work it was nice to come home to three excited dogs. I took Dozer for his walk and he set a good pace for me to follow. Maybe this weekend I will take him a little father then I have been. I could use the exercise and he seem to really enjoy going for walks. He has some new fans on Facebook, it is kinda neat. My little rock star Boxer. I need to get a new digital camera to replace the one someone broke for me. My poor phone is getting full of pictures. I went to trader Joe’s today at lunch and got some things that we were short on, but somehow the yogurt that I bought never made it home with me. I think he forgot to put it in my bag. Might have to go back there today and see if they will give me one. Well it is time for bed, have a wonder night – talk to you all tomorrow.

• Day 50 – 10-19-2010 Tuesday
Dozer has a lot of friends on Facebook now – it has been fun updating his page. the sun is coming up later and later – soon it will still be dark by the time we leave the house. That time of year always seems depressing to me, it is dark when we leave – it is dark when we get home. The only time we see our house in the day light is on the weekends. Dozer has not shown any signs of being sick or still having an upset stomach, so I am sticking with my first thoughts of him eating too much. I make sure he doesn’t get too much to at now. But at the same time I don’t want his ribs to show like they have been since we picked him up from the breeder. He is just so active he burns it all off I guess. He gets to go the the vet next moth so I will ask him how much I should be feeding him. Portia has finally filled out; she was skinny most of her life so far too. Gizmo has never been skinny - My poor little fat man! But with the new food he looks like some of the pounds might be coming off, I know he is more active that’s for sure. I made carrot soup for snacks at work, my first try and not too bad if I say so myself. It turns out to be about 2 points per 1 cup serving. It was 1.5 but they told us to round up. Dozer was cuddled up with me on my pillow, so I took some pictures of him, man he is so cute. Well I better get off to bed.

• Day 49 – 10-18-2010 Monday – 16 weeks – 4 Months old
Well since Dozer is 4 months old today I thought I would celebrate by making a Dozer page on Facebook. This blog already has one; but Dozer needs a way to share his thoughts with the world too. Laugh if you want to – but I find it to be a lot of fun. Now I just need to get either a shirt made or something to be able to advertise the Blog when we take Dozer out to like the drag strip. I write this for myself, but it would be nice to have readers who can see how sweet Boxers can be. They are a wonderful breed and I am kicking myself for not getting a boxer sooner. Bryan and I will have Boxers from now on I think. I have a friend who has a page for his cat and it has been a lot of fun “chatting” with Tyrone the wonder cat. Dozer seemed to be fine this morning even though he got sick last night. I hope my baby is ok. I think he might have eaten too much – so I will now just give him one bowl in the morning and one bowl in the evening. He is growing very nicely though – and next month he will be fixed. He is getting much better at walk time now, he sits and lets me put the leash and harness on him. He also sits when we get back in the house and it is time to take it off. He likes to go out to the garage to see Bryan, but he gets dirty from rolling around on the floor. Bryan just did a primer job on a car so there is dust everywhere. We have been working with him to try and get him to talk, he does ok without barking, we just want him to “talk” not Bark. You would have to of seen a Boxer do it before to understand. I have seen three Boxers do it now, and Dozer will do it most of the time. Well it is about 11pm and I am in desperate need of some sleep. Have a wonderful night everyone.

• Day 47 and 48 – 10-16-2010 Saturday and 10-17-2010 Sunday
Well I slept in till about 9am on Saturday, the dogs didn’t seem to mind at all. It was very nice to be able to get some sleep. Took them all outside and it was a nice start to the day, very cool and a little bit of a breeze. Chris came over to finish up his car. They went to Ace for some items, they came back and worked for a few hours before it was time to eat a late lunch (almost 3pm) so Chris and I went to Nico’s for some tacos. Their food is so yummy. I was a good girl and just got 1 taco. Chris left early because he had a bit of a cough, said he might go to Urgent care if it doesn’t get better. I hope he is ok. Bryan and I hung out with our neighbor John and his Cousin in law Kenny for a bit. At 8pm there was a special coming on Comedy Central for Bo Burnham, that man is too funny! Most might not get his humor but it is just like Bryan and I’s so we totally laughed our butts off! We were in bed early again but it felt nice. I woke up on Sunday Morning and thought I had slept in late again, nope it is 7am! Wow it is gonna be a long day. I folded laundry, cleaned the kitchen, went into town to go to pets mart for dog food and then made dinner. Bryan and I watched a movie, Date Night. It wasn’t as good as I had hoped, the first 20 minutes were really funny and the last 30 minutes were funny and action packed, but the rest of it was kinda slow. I lost two more pounds this week, which puts me at 17lbs down so far. I have 39 more to go, I hope to be there by the end of the year, but I am not going to push it. If I can get there by my birthday that would be the best! I will be 28 and that will be a good time to get my life back in order. I hope to be able to really start the adoption stuff next year so that we can hope to have a child placed with us and adopted by the time I turn 30 – that is my goal. Well it is now late on a Sunday and I really need to go to bed. Well at 11pm I was woke up by Dozer getting sick, my poor baby! I think he ate too much; it just looked like dog food. So we cleaned it up and changed the top sheet on the bed, he was fine the rest of the night.
