Dozer and the mustang

So Dozer has become obsessed with sitting in the mustang. He seems to really love the car. Can not wait till it is all done and the boys can go for a ride.

weather - fickle

so - last week we had rain and freezing temps.   This weeks - mid 60's - mid 70's.  That's right, its gonna be 75 by Saturday!  At least we will be able to take Dozer our more during the day to play,  We took him out over the weekend and threw a ball around for him, man did he have a blast.  He still could care less about a Frisbee.  We even spent some time in the toy hauler and he is doing much better jumping in and out of it.  He just chilled on the floor with his ball.  Sweet - he will be ready for Bowie then come March.  Now all we have to do is work on the care sickness stuff.  The Friend who we go Dozer from is having some car issues so Bryan is going to help him - we were going to Bring Dozer with us so they could see him and so he can see his Doggy Mama and Papa.

really - enough with the cold!

so at 5:50am it was -5F with the wind chill.   I hope Bryan stays warm at work today.  He said if he gets too cold he is just gonna go back home - and I don't blame him,  I wanted to stay in bed myself.  But I knew it was gonna be a busy day at work. We have already had power go out and an office - water pipe frozen at another office.  Dozer never even stopped to go pee this morning - he just did it on the fly.

***The name "Three Dog Night" supposedly refers to an expression meaning a night so cold that one needs to sleep while embracing three dogs.***

Per KOLD:
The last time we saw weather this cold in February was in 1956. This is officially an Arctic Express, since the air originated north of the 60th Parallel, otherwise known as the Arctic Circle.

One front moved through early Tuesday. Another one, a Canadian front, will move through early Wednesday. Yet a third one, the Arctic Express, will move through early Thursday.

This is a devestating freeze for plants not well adapted to this dry, bitter Arctic air. Homeless risk hypothermia if they don't make it to a shelter. Pets face the risk of hypothermia if they are not cared for. Pets that are outdoor-only pets need fresh, unfrozen water and a safe shelter.

Pipes exposed to this Arctic air will burst if not protected.

According to Pima Council on Aging, more than 15,000 elderly people reside alone in Pima County. Check on the elderly to make sure they have adequate ways of staying warm.

School children should be dressed in layers of breathable cotton clothes. As the Arctic front nears, the cold will be accompanied by gusty, northerly wind. This will make daytime highs in the 30s feel more like they are in the 20s. Nighttime lows in the teens will feel like they are in the single digits.

Take action NOW to protect People, Plants, Pets and Pipes.

Iced coffee

So my mom and I got this Iced coffee stuff, it is not too bad -  a little bitter.  I needed this ice coffee today after spending yet another night haveing to get up to let Dozer out over and over-  Really?!  This has to stop or I am going to lose it.  Bryan also did something to his legs this weekend so he has been tossing and turning all night long- that keeps me up as well.  I think it is also keeping Dozer awake too.  Maybe his last benadryl pill needs to be right before we go to bed - or just as late as I can make it.  That way maybe he will sleep more.  I am also on call I guess you can call it.  I am waiting for the call that my Friend has gone into labor.  Her and her mom asked me to be there with them when she has the baby - out of all of her friends she picked me!  So I hgave my phone with me at all times.  Dozer keeping me up all night is kinda like having a baby right now.  The other two dogs sleep all night - I wish Dozer would get to that point again.  He was really good there for a while - I wonder why he changed.

Good Morning

Hope you all are having a good morning - I know I have been so far.  You would think that with little sleep, and getten a broken replacement screen would put me in a bad mood - but no.  I have decided, that this year I was going to make a decision to be happy.  The replacement screen I ordered off of amazon was very late - and I mean VERY late on getting to my house.  I ordered it like a month ago.  So I get it last night from our mailbox, I opened it to make sure it was in there.  So this morning when I got to work and gave it to my co-worker to put the screen on - he noticed that is was more broken then the one on my Ipod touch right now.  Oh wonderful!  here goes email # 3 to Amazon about this, If I do not get a response by lets say Friday - I will file a claim with amazon an just get my money back.  I will order it though someone else, or just deal with the broken screen.

Bryan and I had to come up with a way of letting me get more sleep - getting up every 30 mins to let Dozer out was starting to get to me.  So at 9pm - we picked the water container up.  It worked!  he only went out once at about 10:30pm and slept the rest of the night.  YAY - I can do that every night now.

no sleep - again

This time it was not Dozer's fault.  My good buddy - no wait - our Brother has to have surgery today on his leg.  He had a bad motorcycle accident about a year ago and some hardware has to come out to relieve some pain he has been having.  We almost lost him then - he had a 30% chance of making it to the hospital.  Due to a conflict of interest on the part of his girl friend at that time Bryan and I were not allowed to help him during that time of need.  But we are in his life now where she is not, this time it is our turn to help.  So when the call Bryan and I today we will have to leave to go to UMC to pick him up and take him home.  Then I get to babysit him tille Bryan is able to leave work.  He should be fine the rest of the weekend - but today is going to be very important that he has someone there to help him. Oh - did I forget to mention that he lives in a two story house that doesn't have a bathroom on the first floor.  Yeah this should be fun.

I hear a rat!

So for the last few months we have heard a rat in our master bathroom at night chewing away on the cabinet. So we got some sticky traps and put them out on the floor in the bathroom.  Well he was quiet for a few weeks and then he started again, he push the sticky traps out of his way!  OK fine!  Bryan put some cheese out on the sticky traps and still nothing for weeks!  Till last night, I heard him starting to chew - then I heard him running around in the bathroom like a wild creature who just got a sticky trap stuck to his butt.  Bryan jumped up out of bed at 1:45am to go see if that truly was what I heard.  Yes, that was the sound of a pack rat running around in my bathroom with a sticky trap stuck to his butt!  Well I will not go into any details but Bryan took care of it and we were able to all settle down and go back to sleep.  The whole time this was going on Dozer was right there on the bed with me to protect me from the wild mouse making all the noise in the other room.  Such a good boy he is!

Dozer's new Bed part 2

Well he seems to still like his new kennel - even though it was a little bit of a fight this morning to go to his room - but once in the room he went right into the kennel.  I need to call Dr John and see when he can come off the puppy food, and if he still wants me to be giving him the benadryl.  It seems to really be helping him, my poor little guy.  He has stopped itching really bad like he was wthere for a while - but he still has little bald spots around his eyes.  I hope it all grows back one day.

Dozer's new bed

This Sunday (1-16-11) we went to Petsmart and got Dozer a new very large kennel.  He broke the lock on the door of the other one - also it was not that big.  We would of had to get him a new one at some point.  This new one is so big that Porta and Dozer could both be in there all day together.  Dozer loves it so much that he kept bouncing in and out of there all day Sunday.  I was home yesterday due to another migraine - Dozer's first day in his new kennel will be today, it has four bars that lock the door into place - I don't think we will have an issue of him trying to bust out of this one.

No sleep

So last night Dozer thought it would be fun to keep Mommy up allllll night.  I must have jumped off the bed 5 times last night to go outside or get some water - drove me crazy!  So finally I had enough and just held him the rest of the night.  He seemed happy with that.  I have not had a night like that with him in a long time.  He has been a very good pup and sleeping most of the night - until last night.
